Lesson 25 - How to Actually
Publish a Website from Your Computer |

Step 1 - In FrontPage go to: File, New, Page or Web.
Select "One Page Web" or "Web Site Templates" in the
right hand column. Choose
"One Page Web" in the Website Templates box shown in Step 2 below.

● Step 2 - In the Web Site Templates
box specify the
name and
location of
the new website in
the drop down box. A website is usually located in the
"My Documents" folder.
If it is the only website in your My Documents folder it will
be named My Webs by FrontPage.
Double click on
the One Page Web option, or highlight that option and click the OK tab,
and FrontPage will create the website automatically.

Step 3 - Open your My Webs folder in FrontPage and this
is what you will see.

Step 4 - Open your main home page ( billy_m1.htm ) in FrontPage and save it as
"index"
in
the My Webs Folder.
Important!
The
index.htm must be located outside
of any other folder in your
My Webs folder. |

● Step 5 - Create another folder (folderone) in
your My Webs folder to hold your other web pages.
Save your other web pages one at a time into folderone.
 |

● Step 6 - Now that you have created a My Webs
folder and saved all of your pages into it you need to find a
company, such as,
Dot5 Hosting
to publish your website to the internet. The web hosting
company will give
you the URL or web address to publish to, such as,
http://pccasp.org
or
http:www.avon.k12.ma.us.
They
may just give you a number, such as,
http://216.147.31.186 which you can rename later.
